Scholarship Application Instructions

The mission of the Washington Council of Trout Unlimited and the Icicle Chapter is to “Conserve, protect and restore cold water fisheries, their watersheds and ecosystems, as a means of maintaining our quality of life for future generations to come.” To promote this in our youth and community, we offer an annual scholarship.

 

Scholarship Value - $1,500

 

The Scholarship will be provided to the recipient best fulfilling the eligibility requirements and who has been accepted to an accredited two or four year-college or technical school. 

 

Eligibility

 

1) Must be a graduating senior of Entiat, Cascade or Cashmere High School

2) Applicable career fields for this scholarship include natural science, conservation / natural resources-related fields (i.e. fisheries, forestry, wildlife, botany, geology, soil sciences, watershed sciences, ecology, and environmental education/ recreation). Applicants are encouraged to talk with their career counselor or the chair of the Icicle Valley Trout Unlimited scholarship committee to clarify if the career they are interested in pursuing is suitable for this scholarship.

 

Applicant Packet Instructions

 

1) Submit essay on “Why is protecting the environment an important issue to you and what have you personally done to protect it”

2) Submit two letters of recommendations. One from a teacher in the science/natural science field in which you are interested and one from a community member who has been involved with you in a community service or volunteer activity

3) Submit a high school transcript

4) Submit a resume on activities, honors, and community service
