We are a conservation organization working to care for and recover local waterways and the fish that call them home. We bring people together to care for their rivers and help make our water cleaner and our communities healthier.
1982 – The Icicle Chapter of Trout Unlimited became reality
We started out with National TU Banquets to raise money for projects.
Our first big project in cooperation with the Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery was the building of a handicap fishing platform on the Icicle River. For the effort the club received the prestigious Washington State Silver Trout Award. This was the beginning of multiple conservation projects which brought recognition and awards from the State of Washington and National Trout Unlimited..
2001 – We embarked on the huge project to create a back channel restoration and the create a Fishing Pond near Leavenworth that cost over 1 million dollars.
2002 – Little Kids Science Program was launched for summer school in the Cascade School District.
Salmon in the Classroom was introduced into the school systems
2007 – Built a “state of the art” barbecue wagon to raise funds for projects. and became #1 chapter of Trout Unlimited in the state of Washington.
The Icicle Chapter is looking forward to a future of conservation and education to make our area the best environment possible.
